James Holmes was born in Toronto and has been a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for 39 years.

James joined the Board of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association as a Director in 1986. He was elected Third Vice President in 1988 and held that position for two years, then served one year as Second Vice President. Starting in 1991 James served 13 years as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. During that time he helped in the office with the numerous sanctions and awards. He has served on numerous committees, including the Hall of Fame & Awards Dinner, the Annual Meeting and the tournaments, and he is still actively involved in our Association, helping wherever he is needed. He is also a Certified Lane Inspector.

For many years James has bowled in the long established Metropolitan Stanley Park League and also bowls in a men’s league. He has participated in over 20 GTTBA Local Association Tournaments. James has attended several Provincial Meetings and Jamborees and bowled in the adult and seniors Provincial Tournament. He has a high single game of 279.

During our association with ABC, James attended several ABC conventions and next year in Reno he will be bowling in his 25th ABC/USBC National Tournament.

In April 2004 James was made a Life Member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association.

This year James celebrated 45 years of marriage to his wife Rosalind. They have been blessed with two children and two grandchildren.
