Della was born and raised in Lakehurst, Ontario and is married to Robert Trude and has a daughter Melanie.

A member of the Greater Toronto Women’s Bowling Association for 27 years, Della joined the Board of Directors in 1981. During her 23 years on the Board, she served 3 years as Secretary, 9 years as 1st Vice-President and the last 3 years as President. She has chaired or worked on all committees and was also a league Secretary for many years. She also served on the Transition Committee for inclusion into the CTF. Della is a Certified Lane Inspector and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Lane Inspection Committee for 13 years

Della is a Certified Junior Instructor/Coach and served as President of the Junior Association for 5 years. In addition, she served on the Ontario Provincial Junior Board of Directors for 4 years.

Della is also active in the Ontario Provincial Women’s Bowling Association. During her 11 years as a Director, she was a member of the Legislative Committee, the Hall of Fame Committee and the Canadian Luncheon Committee at the WIBC Convention. She bowled in 20 OPWBA Tournaments. Della also served on the Transition Committee for inclusion into the Canadian Tenpin Federation.

Della has attended 19 WIBC Conventions, serving one year as Teller, and bowled in 21 WIBC National Tournaments.

Effective August 1, 2004, Della was elected 1st Vice President of the revamped Ontario Tenpin Bowling Association and President of the revamped Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association.
