ROBERT K. MOORE

Bob Moore was born and raised in Toronto. A member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for thirty-five years, Bob served as a Director for four terms and as a Vice-president for two terms.

His bowling accomplishments are incredible. At 20 years of age he bowled his first 300 game, the first sanctioned 300 bowled in Toronto. His second 300 came several years later and was the first sanctioned 300 in the Oshawa Association. The third one was bowled at Playtime in the last game of the league’s regular season. What a way to win the Hi-single for the season. Bob has two-299 games and four 298 games to his credit as well. He has had three 11-in-a-row games, some 150-700 series and has converted the four seven, six ten split.

Bob competed in 28 Local Association Tournaments, cashing in almost all of them. In twenty-seven Provincials he was on the prize list for twenty-two. He bowled in thirteen 700 Club Tournaments and was a two-time winner. Bob participated in eight CTF Nationals and has a first place finish in that tournament. Competing twice in the Tournament of the Americas, Bob brought home seven medals from that event as well.

He participated in 28 ABC Tournaments, cashing in most of them and placing as high as third in the Doubles Event. Still participating at ABC’s, his team members over the years included such famous bowling names as Ray Mitchell, Blondie Robinson, Wally Gay, Glen Watson, the Brace brothers, Dan Armstrong and Earl Demmery.

Bob maintained a composite average over the years of well over 200, and one year at Shea’s Kennedy he actually had a book average of 230. He was a GTTBA Bowler of the Year three times and has been selected for the GTTBA All-star Team eleven times.
