ROBERT (BOB) M. BRACE

Robert Brace was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 9th, 1948. He was a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for twenty-two years and served as a Director on the Board for one term.

Bob started to excel on the lanes in 1964, when he bowled his first 300 game as an American Bowling Congress Member at the age of sixteen, “youngest Canadian to do so”. To date he has a total of fourteen 300 games and is the only Canadian to have bowled 300 in each of the last four decades.

Over a sixteen year period from the 1970-1971 season to the 1985-1986 season, Bob’s performance in our Annual Association Tournament, resulted in four Scratch Team titles, two Scratch Singles Titles, two Scratch Doubles Titles and one Scratch All-Events Title. He has been a member of our “All Star Team” six times.

His sixteen-year composite Toronto league average was 190 with a single season High Average of 217.

Bob has bowled in numerous Provincial Association Tournaments with eleven Scratch Titles

In 1997 he teamed up with brother Jack and finished seventh in the American Bowling Congress Championship Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama.

Bob has continued his career in the past twelve years in Oshawa, Ontario as a bowler and Proprietor.

This evening we honour him with induction into our Hall of Fame for his accomplishments during his Toronto bowling career.
