KERRIE RYAN-CIACH

Kerrie Ryan-Ciach was born in Mississauga on January 6th, 1971 and has been a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for over thirty years.

Kerrie’s career began as a junior bowler. During her eighteen years as an adult bowler Kerrie bowled over thirty 700’s, one eleven-in-a-row, one 298 Game, one 299 Game, three 300 Games, and has set several records. In March 2008 Kerrie set a new record when she bowled an 827 Series, becoming the first woman in our Association to bowl an 800. Her single season High Average is 222.

Her performance in our Local Association Tournaments earned her seven Scratch All Events Titles and several Scratch Team Titles. Kerrie won both the Queen’s Tournament and the 600 Club Tournament three times. In the Mixed Doubles Tournament she not only won the Scratch Division six times but in 2006 she also won the Handicap Division.

Kerrie has participated in several national and international tournaments. She has been a Member of Team Canada for fourteen years and was the Canadian National Champion in 1998. In 1998 and 2003 Kerrie won the Canadian Bowler of the Year Award.

During her bowling career Kerrie has won several medals in the Commonwealth Invitational and has bowled in two Pam Am Games, placing fourth in 1999 in Winnipeg. In the FIQ Zones in Argentina in 2001 she placed fourth in Trios and Team and, in Costa Rica in 2005, she placed fourth in Singles, won a Silver Medal in Doubles, a Silver Medal in Trios and a Bronze Medal in Team. She also participated in FIQ World Championships in Reno, Nevada, Abu Dabi, UAE, Denmark and Monterrey, Mexico.

Her accomplishments in the World Cup are exceptional. In 2003 Kerrie competed against 69 countries in Honduras, averaging 217, and became the sixth Canadian to ever win the World Cup. In 2004 she won a Silver Medal in the World Cup in Singapore and also won the Brent Petersen award for High Country. Kerrie also came fourth in the World Tenpin Team Cup in Amsterdam in 2004.

Kerrie has been our Women’s Bowler of the Year ten times and has won several High Association Awards.

For Distinguished Performance, the Hall of Fame is pleased to induct Kerrie Ryan-Ciach.
