KAREN COLLURA

Karen Collura was born in Toronto on November 7th, 1967 and has been a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for twenty years.

Her bowling career began at O’Connor Bowl at the age of seven as a junior bowler where she started her winning ways.

Karen has competed in many Local Association Tournaments winning four Scratch All Events Titles, one Singles Title and several Scratch Team Titles and setting 3 records. She has won the ‘A” Division in our Queen’s Tournament three times and won the Scratch Division in our Mixed Doubles Tournament twice. Karen also has four 600 Club Tournament Championships.

Her participation in 20 USBC National Tournaments has given her one Singles Title and 2 Doubles Titles. In 2003 in Reno Karen and her mom Gloria were the first Canadians to win the Doubles in the Classic Division of the USBC.

In 1993 and 1994 Karen’s excellent bowling won her a spot on the TSN show. Karen, along with her teammates Gloria, Connie and Kerrie, also won the Ladies Scratch Team in the Toronto Open.

Karen has a 21 year composite average of over 190 with a single season high average of 208. She has bowled three 300 games, one 298 game, and over thirty 700 series with the high of 787. For her bowling accomplishments Karen was selected as our Women’s Bowler of the Year twice.

From 1993 to 1996 Karen competed in the World Cup and won 4 Canadian National Championships. In 1994 she competed in the Tournament of Americas and won one Mixed Doubles Title, one Mixed Foursome Title, two Doubles Titles and three National All Events Titles.

For Distinguished Performance, the Hall of Fame is pleased to induct Karen Collura.
