HOWARD SCULNICK

Howard Sculnick was born in Montreal on May 31, 1954. He has been a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association for twenty years.

During his career he has accumulated some incredible statistics. He has bowled in 18 Local Association Tournaments, winning the Scratch Team title 5 times. At Planet Bowl during the 1998/1999 season Howard bowled a 1094 series and set a record for Individual 4 Game Series which has yet to be broken. He has bowled many 700 series, twenty-nine 300 games, nine 299 games, three 298 games, two 11-in-a-row and has converted the 4-7-6-10. He bowled four 800 series with his high being 836.

He has bowled in 15 Ontario Provincial Tournaments, winning three Scratch titles. In May 2006 at Classic Bowl he and Stephen Gilliam bowled a 1484, setting a new record for Doubles 3 Game Series which still stands today. Also at that tournament he and his teammates bowled a 2786 and set a 4 Man Team, 3 Game Series record. That record was held until March 2011.

Howard has bowled in 14 U.S.B.C. National Tournaments and 9 Canadian Tenpin Federation National Tournaments. In 2006 Howard bowled a 2171, averaging 241.22, won the Canadian Senior Men’s Championship Tournament and set a Canadian record. He was the Pepsi Invitational Champion in Windsor, Ontario in 2005.

Over the years he has participated in several national and international tournaments. In 1989, 1993 and 2005 he participated in the Maccabi Games, held every four years in Israel, and won 2 Team Gold Medals, 1 Trios Gold Metal, 1 Single Silver Medal and 1 Doubles Silver Medal. In 1981 and 2006 he bowled in the Tournament of the Americas and won 2 Gold Medals. He was the World Cup Canadian runner up in 1988 and 1993. As a Member of Team Canada he placed fourth in doubles at the 2001 F.I.Q. American Zones in Buenos Aires.

Howard has been a member of the Greater Toronto Tenpin Bowling Association “All Star Team” six times.

For Distinguished Performance, the Hall of Fame is pleased to induct Howard Sculnick.
