GLORIA COLLURA

Gloria Collura, a Toronto native, has been a member of the Greater Toronto Women’s Bowling Association for twenty-one years.

Gloria competed in 15 GTWBA City Tournaments, winning the scratch team championship in 1993-94 along with teammates Linda Cuartas, Karen Collura and Kerrie Ryan with a record 4 man score of 2340. In 1981 she was the GTWBA High Average Award winner and that year she also had the high three game score of 718.

She has a ten year composite average of 185, has many 275 plus games to her credit and has rolled more than 25 - 650 series. She has won the 600 Club Tournament and in 1993 Gloria, along with her daughter Karen placed 1st in the WIBC Scratch Doubles Open Division, the first Canadians to win this event.

Over the years, Gloria has competed in many National and International Tournaments. She has a fourth place finish in the Tournament of the Americas, has won silver in singles and bronze in all events in the World Master Event in Australia. She also has a 4th place finish at the World Cup.

Gloria has been active at the league level, serving as President, Vice-President and Treasurer. A certified coach since 1979, she has coached many champions to the gold, silver, and bronze medal categories in the YBC and YABA. Most recently she coached the CTF regular division adults to 11 medals in Edmonton, Alberta.

Gloria has been honoured by the York Region Board of Education, the Bowling Proprietors and the Junior Program at Woodbridge Bowl for her efforts on behalf of youth bowling.
